BENCHMARKING VISIT FROM KV TELUK INTAN

 This morning 8 lecturers from Kolej Vokasional Teluk Intan came for a benchmarking visit to our college.  The lecturers from the academic department came to get input from us as we are the pioneer vocational college in Perak.

This morning the lecturers attended a talk given by Ustazah Siti Khadijah titled 'GURU BIJAKSANA PELAJAR BERJAYA'.

THANKSGIVING CEREMONY FOR HERB GARDEN

This afternoon, there was a Thanksgiving Ceremony (Majlis Kesyukuran) for the Herb Garden.  From December 2012, the Herb Garden Committee with the help of Encik Megat, Encik Mansur, Encik Hambali, Encik Sukri, the Menasti workers and Resource Centre Excos were involved in cleaning, tidying and upgrading the Herb Garden using funds from the Member of Parliament from Lumut.
Ustaz Mohd Fauzi helped to conduct the prayers for the thanksgiving ceremony.  After the ceremony, all those present were invited to a 'jamuan' hosted by the Herb Garden Committee.

REPLANTING TENGGEK BURUNG PLANT

 We have a plant in the Herb Garden called Tenggek Burung.  It was planted about two years ago but until today the plant looked sickly.  A healthy plant would be as tall as I am after two years and so there must be something wrong with the soil where it was planted.  So I decided to do some replanting.
This evening, I got three of the boys to help me transfer the plant.  When one of the boys was digging, we realised that there were two plants instead of one.  I decided to leave one of the plants in the original place and transfer the other to the main herb garden.

 The student had to dig carefully to make sure not to damage the roots.

 Another student had to use a spade to carefully remove one of the plants from the earth.

 See how careful the boy was in executing the transfer of the plant.

PLANTING PEGAGA

This morning, Puan Shanty helped me to plant pegaga in the Herb Garden.  Maintaining the garden is an ongoing process by the resource centre.  Luckily I have help from the students, lecturers, staff and workers.

Those lecturers and staff of KVSM who have yet to claim their KGKT Umbrellas can get them from Tuan Haji Suhaimi at the workshop.
