ASSESSMENT OF KV STUDENTS STILL GOING ON

The Year 1 students are still undergoing their second semester assessment this week.  The last group will be sitting for their assessment on Friday.

LADAP: PROGRAM PREZI

This morning the lecturers attended a course on how to use the Prezi Program.  The course started at 8.30 a.m. and ended at 11.45 a.m.  The presented was Encik Mohd Razak bin Ibrahim who was assisted by Cik Nor Ayisha bt Mohamad Hanibah.  Both of them are part of the Projek Perdana Intelek ICT, Program Pendidikan Berterusan Universiti Sains Malaysia.

MONEY TO UPGRADE HERB GARDEN

Yesterday afternoon, Puan Musliha came and presented me with a RM5,000 cheque to upgrade the college Herb Garden. The money was sponsored by the Member of Parliament for Lumut, Dato Kong Cho Har. As the cheque was written in the name of the PTA, I had to pass it to the treasurer to bank it in and then reissue me with another check.

Now with money in hand, I can start ordering the Herb Information signboard and labels for the herbs plus buy more plants, soil and pots to upgrade the garden. Hooray!

A big thank you to Dato' Kong for this contribution. I believe that if we give to Mother Nature, we will in turn receive her blessings.

INSTALLING NEW PROGRAMME IN LAPTOPS

This Friday, the lecturers be attending a short course on how to use a computer programme to enhance our teaching. We were told to bring out laptops to the computer lab this morning to install the particular programme what would be taught to us. I am looking forward to attending the course as I get to learn something new.

PRACTICAL FOR KV STUDENTS

There was a change in the examination time-table this morning.  Instead of sitting for an examination paper, the Year 1 students did their practical assessment at the electrical workshop.

KV PRACTICAL PAPER: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND CONSUMERISM

This morning the KV students sat for the Amali Pengurusan Kewangan & Kepengunaan Paper.

EXTRA CLASS FOR SCIENCE SUBJECT

This evening there was an extra Science class for a few of the Form 5 students who would be sitting for their Science paper on Wednesday morning.  Teaching them was Puan Ng.

WRITING YEAR END REPORTS

While some of the lecturers were busy with invigilating the practical assessment for the KV students, there were also some who took the time to write the year end report of the programmes and activities that were carried out by their units for 2012.

HANDING IN TEACHING FILES

Unlike normal schools in Malaysia, the lecturers at KVSM keep a record of their scheme of work and daily lesson plans in a file and not a record book. This morning, a few of the lecturers went to hand in their big files at the Quality Room. The files will be personally checked by the director and the assistant directors.

VISIT FROM RESEARCH STUDENTS FROM UITM PUNCAK ALAM

On Tuesday afternoon, I played host to four research students from University Institute Teknologi Malaysia (UiTM) Puncak Alam who had come all the way from Shah Alam to do research for their project. Three of the students are majoring in library management while the third, Fakhri, (who happens to be a former student of SM Vokasional Seri Manjung) is majoring in System Management.
It was indeed pleasant to speak to these young men and ladies who were so full of enthusiasm. They were really interested to know about the administration of the resource centre. Interestingly, the library in the college is undergoing a lot of transformation and so they might be able to write the report for their project from a different perspective.

The lecturers attended the last meeting for 2012 on Friday morning.  The meeting which was chaired by the director, Puan Hajah Intan Suhana bt Kamarudin started at 8.30 a.m. and ended at around 11.00 a.m.
